You will NEVER do worse than agreeing to a 2 tier wage system. The last contract, we must have all been sleeping because they started a 2 tier in maintenance and now they want a THIRD tier in Maintenance! This is what happens - divide and conquer. Segregation is a great way to keep people fighting among themselves instead of finding common ground. This is the time to draw a line in the sand.

Maintenance has had 2 tiers for approx. 15 years, and has not had any issues with it. It wasn't just the last contract when that started.

We've actually had a two tier pay schedule for maintenance for a couple of decades. It was negotiated that way back when Phil Acton was union president. (For all you "old timers" who remember Phil Acton . . . )
